Do you feel upset about some of the rumored names that will be appointed? Trump ran a very anti-DC and anti-establishment campaign, even mocking Clinton for being in government for 30 years, yet the names that we hear are lifelong politicians.

This runs very much in parallel to Obama's win in 2008. I knew things were going to be disappointing when I heard Clinton, Holder and Geithner were involved, along with others. I held the small hope that Obama would keep them in line and that the populist mandate would provide new motivation, but us on the left learned real quick that it was going to be business as usual.

Thoughts?

Its gonna be worse this time because Trump doesn't Obama's intellect and he never governed in his life.

He is going to hate his existence over these next four years

i still cant believe how much of his decisions come down to personal feelings

Donald Trump on Friday announced Vice President-elect Mike Pence would take over transition planning from Chris Christie, a move that sources say reflect a diminished role for the New Jersey governor.

Sources tell NBC News that the controversy surrounding two former Christie aides being convicted in the closure of George Washington Bridge lanes was an issue, but more significant was Christie's failure to vocally defend Trump at key moments throughout the campaign.

But then again, it also shows it won't be the end of the universe from him, so there.

And if they are not? If they prove to be correct, what is your opinion?

Ok..then I'm wrong.... Doubt it though. It's been less than a week, nothing substantial besides the first steps in setting up a transition team has occured. I would be more interested in seeing who is on the transition team to actually advise on cabinet positions. I think I heard they kicked New Jersey's governor out and gave the leaderhip of transition team to Pence.

So Ruby is a rumor?

Ruby who?? :patrice:

He has to fill around 4000 spots within 2 months and many of those positions need knowledge and experience...Odds are some will be filled by people who have worked in previous administrations

People outside the beltway dont know but the mid level bureaucrats are the people who run the administration and you cant replace them all because nobody else knows how to do what they do...the best Trump can do is set the tone that he wont tolerate corruption and incompetence .

Yea but Giuliani, Gingrich, and some of these other names floating around? They are about as pro-establishment as you can get.

Not even remotely surprised :manny:

He demonstrated throughout the election that he'll almost always put his own personal feelings or motivations before what's best for the country. There's no reason to think that won't be a continued theme during his presidency.

Giuliani and Gingrich are smart enough to know they are toxic...they been around too long and theyll hurt his message of change..i seriously doubt they are included unless its something like Ambassadorships
