shyt was special when it first aired on cartoon network. I was around the perfect age I think to appreciate it too. Middle school. No youtube, no wikipedia. Just dialup internet, geocity sites, aol chatrooms, and pojo.com. I had no idea wha
I forgot about that site
i was on that shyt hourly. I even learned how to bypass firewalls to go browse in school.
. I remember watching episodes of the fight with Raditz in 1996 on WB-Fox (that shyt used to come on real early in the morning). Then watching some of the series again when Cartoon Network picked it up a couple years later.
They had no business putting it on that early on damn Saturday.
. DBZ was truly my first time actually following an anime series. Had fam that put me on to Akira (the movie) and Fist of the North Star prior to.

). I still remember being blown away when Trunks murked them dudes. I went outside and spent like an hour at the park talking about it with this white kid that lived a few doors down. We were theorizing all kinds of random shyt to explain how Trunks was a super saiyan. I remember thinking it might be a trick/magic
.........
. All of us are fully wrapped up into DBZ at the time, we all are in awe and start speculating on what and who this guy possibly is. We go in the store and ask the employee if he knows, he doesn't even watch the show
. We spent the next 2 hours at the mall and every day for the next couple weeks speculating. My brother is 10 years older than me so I had him get me out of school early on the Tuesday the tapes dropped so I could cop em. Came home and watched all the episodes episodes and had my mind blown
. Good times. As someone else said, that was pretty much the end of the innocence for a lot of us. After that, it was too hard to resist searching and spoiling yourself online.
