No disrespect but I don't get the appeal of living (visits are cool) in NYC. Half a million for a walk in closet?...nah son.

ehhhh, spots i'm looking at aren't that small. Ypu may be thinking more so for manhattan. The queens condo i'm hoping for is a little over 1200 sq. ft.

Dats wassup

550k is kinda high tho

Brooklyn is getting crazy man. It's the tyoe of market thats out here.

That first joint look nice.

Could buy like 2-3 cribs in NC or VA with that money though :skip:

Yeah, but then we'd live in VA though. My girl's fam is in DC and shyt's expensive out there too. It's the cost that comes with living in a big popular city.

Why live in such a big ass city with high cost of living??

Move up to troy or albany and pay 1/3 the rent yo

Nah, I'm good.

:scumbag:

I just cant do it man. My house is 3x the size for 1/2 the price. And you still have to pay maintenance :damn:

We are able to put down a pretty strong down payment. A little more than 30%. Once that't taken care of monthly costs would be about a g or less for each of us. We can easily afford that. Also, resale. Brooklyn real-estate is going thru the roof. Queens is also. I'm trying to get into this luxury condo on the border of Flushing. Flushing is silently booming extremely good. Them Asian ain;t messing around.

Thanks. Me and the girl looking to get a 2 bedroom...Either we sell it or enjoy it once we have a child. Don't wanna go thru the stages of scrambling for an extra room when we have a kid.

Ironic shyt is the places out here I never wanted to live back in the days are the places I've been looking to move now.
Yeah once they start improving a certain area it becomes to new "it" spot. I live in the downtown area of my city and in the year that I've been living there about 4 apartment complexes have sprang up with more on the way because they're remodeling a lot of older buildings that were empty for forever also. My zip code went from a buyers market to a renters market in less than a year. There aren't hardly any properties for sale but a lot for rent which is crazy because these new people are paying twice as much in rent as I'm paying for a mortgage for to same size place.

Renting's not an option as this point. I been lucky with my rent. I've rented one floor of a house for about 8 yrs, well under marker rate for a 2 bedroom and a deck in the back but far out in Brooklyn. So we are just focused on buying at this point. I'm sure I been paying prolly more than half the mortgage at the spot I rent at. But it was still a pretty nice deal with the rent. The amenities at some condos are good to satisfy us for a few yrs (gym, open rooftop, parking, washer/dryer and being near a park) count big for us.

A lot of black folks are leaving the city, but as far as property investment, this is where the money's at...and residual money at that if you are able to have a spot to rent out here once you are done with the city.
