That is a statement made out of ignorance. Grappling in the street isnt always about passing guards. Thats a point system. Grappling in the street is about making sure you are in the better position then your opponent. If an opponent is on the ground and you are standing, you are in a better position then he is and can deploy feet and hands to his body. Everyone says what about multiple opponents well friend, most people on the planet trained or not lose fights against multiple attackers, especially when they try to take them to the ground and stomp on them. Boxing does not give you super powers against takedowns from multiple opponents but it can make you look good when multiple wealklings are chasing you down the street.
In our minds we all have a million memories of online fights we've seen where someone was picked up and slammed. This happens over and over again. People are sucker punched and slammed. When do you see someone getting ko'd trying to take someone down, Its rare friend.
Some people are just not prepared to fight under Any scenario so they just say something that makes sense in their mind. Grappling is street tested. Its just that when you grapple in the street, you have to be careful because the techniques are so dangerous and deadly that spectators dont want you to engage in battle that way.
Doesn't change the fact that grappling's effectiveness in the streets goes down 100% in street fights once a 2nd person comes into the equation. Judo being the exception. Boxing doesn't necessarily mean you can wash multiple people, but you can defend yourself. you can't even defend yourself against a 2nd person in dominant BJJ positions

If you're that concerned about not being able to fight multiple men, run. But when you're in peak physical condition fighting men who are flabby and slow these are thoughts that dont cross your mind. This is something you really fail to acknowledge in this footage.
