That is a statement made out of ignorance. Grappling in the street isnt always about passing guards. Thats a point system. Grappling in the street is about making sure you are in the better position then your opponent. If an opponent is on the ground and you are standing, you are in a better position then he is and can deploy feet and hands to his body. Everyone says what about multiple opponents well friend, most people on the planet trained or not lose fights against multiple attackers, especially when they try to take them to the ground and stomp on them. Boxing does not give you super powers against takedowns from multiple opponents but it can make you look good when multiple wealklings are chasing you down the street.

In our minds we all have a million memories of online fights we've seen where someone was picked up and slammed. This happens over and over again. People are sucker punched and slammed. When do you see someone getting ko'd trying to take someone down, Its rare friend.

Some people are just not prepared to fight under Any scenario so they just say something that makes sense in their mind. Grappling is street tested. Its just that when you grapple in the street, you have to be careful because the techniques are so dangerous and deadly that spectators dont want you to engage in battle that way.

Doesn't change the fact that grappling's effectiveness in the streets goes down 100% in street fights once a 2nd person comes into the equation. Judo being the exception. Boxing doesn't necessarily mean you can wash multiple people, but you can defend yourself. you can't even defend yourself against a 2nd person in dominant BJJ positions:mjlol:

Oldie but a goodie.

Yall grappling nikkas woulda got stomped out trying to pass dudes guard

His footwork is definitely legit and you're right about his timing.

his punches just looked so ugly coming out. there was no sharpness in his straights especially. Dude wasn't transferring any power....probably coulda slept somebody had he was

My guess is he's a former boxer or hasn't trained in a while. His timing is definitely evidence of experience, but his form slipped a bunch. Another boxer would be countering every other punch as long as he wasn't getting caught coming in like the dudes in the vid

I wouldn't doubt any of what you said and when put into that context, it makes perfect sense.
I could definitely see him being a retired boxer, knocking the rust off, amongst other things :lolbron:

Judo isnt grappling? And yes you can easily defend yourself by throwing your hands and grappling, friend. You will throw punches and you will end up in a clinch. A grappler. You can take an opponent to the ground with a trip, throw etc enabling you to deal with your other opponent. Its about strategy and using your strengths to your advantage. You dont have anything close to a BJJ black belt so these are concepts that sound like Chinese to you at this moment in time.

At least you acknowledge that no man can see Brazillian Jiujitsu 1 on 1 :blessed: If you're that concerned about not being able to fight multiple men, run. But when you're in peak physical condition fighting men who are flabby and slow these are thoughts that dont cross your mind. This is something you really fail to acknowledge in this footage.

He could never fight multiple boxers or even 1 man with a BJJ black belt let alone 2. :mjlol: I think you underrate the ineffectiveness of being flabby and weak vs a man in good shape.

I am getting a better picture of BJJ, I can prevent my self from being slammed or taken down to the ground.

But choking someone out to win a fight is what I had trouble accepting since I first heard about BJJ on SOHH.

Why do these dumbasses always attack these trained fighters 1 at a time,it looks like a Jackie Chan flick...

They should have huddled up after the first few took a fall and game planned to all attack same time in a circle...

Give a trained fighter the advantages brehs...
Scientifically, only 4 people can get at you at a time...There are just isn't enough space for more than 5 people to put hands on you at the same time...

Then there is the fear factor, once the first attacker gets slumped, his buddies will start to hesitate...

Im sorry to hear that. I hope you overcome the filth but im not your enemy, im a friend. One that just so happens loves Brazilian Jiujitsu. Perhaps you should join an academy so you can do things like this. There are theories of what discipline can do in a filthy mind. Perhaps make it better, God willing, friend.

Its an embarrassing and powerless feeling which is why people cant believe it. Being strangled on your feet looking into someones eyes or worse, from behind. A BJJ expert can choke a man out from and position. Ive seen fights in the club with my friends where a man was put in a choke hold and dragged to the back of the club while his friends chased my friend but by the time they got to their friend, he was unconcious and out of the fight. BJJ is very intelligent and strategic. BJJ guys do not just grapple but use grappling to avoid the most common forms of brutality during fights which occurs during a takedown and to also yourself be the one who slams and also to be the one who uses grappling to create great offensive opportunities during a squabble. People think of tournament Brazillian Jiujitsu and have this notion that thats how a actual fight goes down.

Yeah, the videos of the tournaments left me with a bad impression. Rushing some to take them to the ground looked so :mjlol:. Also, getting herpes from the mats was too disgusting.
