Juicy Thunda is a legend. He's basically comic relief now, but he was fantastic at his peak. I'll give him a 9 based on longevity and his influence on many wrestlers. He was the first person to do a lot of the signature type moves I saw.

Liger is like the westerner's beginner guide to puro because he's the first name that pops up in most wrestling fans mind. Dude was like a real life anime character with all the bells and whistles. He can either go face in his usual attire or go dark in his beast attire depending on the feud :banderas:

. His moveset is a perfect medium of puro, cruiserweight, and even heavyweight moves. The one thing that made Liger special in my eye is the ability to make a filler match seem larger than life. For instance, there was a match that I seen on NJPW World which I used as a struggle analogy. I forgot who he was fighting but both dudes were having a typical match. shyt got real the moment breh starting messing with his mask and doing dirty tricks to catch Liger off guard. Eventually Liger had a comeback and won the match. Yet, Liger wasn't satisfied with the match. Despite the trophies he won and all the damn belts they gave out, he threw all them bytches on the ground like "this shyt isn't worth it, I want to beat this fukker the fukk up" :pacspit:

, . Another match same thing, it was a typical filler match for the Road to Wrestle Kingdom. Dude fought his long arch nemesis/ally Tiger Mask. You know when shyt is about to go down when Liger expose the upper body :whoo:

. Both dudes were wrestling like the Tokyo Dome had a packed attendance. It was wild and one of my favorite matches of all time between the two.

Bottom line, Liger is the epitome of why Japanese wrestling is truly special.

For a lot of people, myself included, Liger was the gateway to Puro, along with Muta. He was one of the first Japanese wrestlers I ever saw perform, and as a kid it was hard not to be a fan. He blended a heavyweight moveset with a light heavyweight sensibility. 20 years later, he’s still doing it. Easy 10.

GOAT junior and it's not even close. Top 10 wrestler ever no doubt about it. The amount of good shyt he has with different wrestlers in different promotions over 3 decades is insane. Give him a 10, next.

ps: Probably the GOAT underdog performance against Sano in 1990, btw. Definitely check that match out if you havent.

Liger and Muta were my first forrays into Puro based on seeing them on WCW programming. Liger has wrestled classics and been consistently a wonder to watch in the ring. Even today, he's not putting on bad matches at his advanced age. From the look to the workrate to the aura and longevity, he gets a 10
