TSC: How many smarks do you know in real life

I got one friend who is a super smark (pretty much hates everything WWE even the guys he used to love in the indies) and then I got another friend who a huge mark, doesn't follow anything other than WWE and is a big fan of all the typical acts New Day, Enzo and Cass etc.

I have a work colleague who may still think wrestling is real. He's a big casual fan but the way he talks about it I think he thinks it's real

I also got two female friends who watch Total Divas and the Bellas show now

I've never came across anyone that would know what ROH is. I've met one person that knew of TNA but didn't watch.

Other than the "i used to watch wrestling all the time' kidns of guys. There is this one guy i know from College. has a wrestling shirt from almost every current wrestler. That's a lot of money brehs. He also knows all out ROH, TNA, NJPW

But he lost my respect when he said Vince Mcmahon was going to win the '16 rumble and main event wrestlemania. his predictions are so asinine.

None. Everyone I know that watches wrestling are casuals. They don't watch TNA, Lucha Underground, NXT, NJPW on AXS, etc. They won't attend the local NWA shows, Booker T's promotion here in Houston, etc. Won't attend a live WWE event unless it's Raw or Smackdown or a ppv.

I don't know any smarks but I do have 4 legit friends from different parts of my life that watch RAW, Smackdown and sometimes Impact.

They also follow wrestling news from like wrestling inc, no dq, etc. All of them started watching again only a couple of years ago which is funny cause only one of them hates Cena since they didn't suffer through the super Cena years.

They all have smark potential but don't care about indies enough, I even got one of them to watch NXT weekly.

My one problem with all of them is getting them to think that all wrestling outside of WWE aren't the minor leagues. Sure they may be lacking in production or mic skills but there are a lot of companies that put on dope matches.

One new student this semester. This guy watches everything, referencing Nailz and such. I believe he was equally shocked to know his professor could spout out the full PPV results of a Starrcade 20 years ago.

I don't know if I'd consider my friend a smark but he does know a lot about the history of wwe and is knowledgeable on the independents. He's the only one I'd consider close to a smark.

None outside of maybe my uncle who go to wrestling shows all the time

I remember me and my brother was playing basketball in the park and we heard some other people talking about Kurt angle and TNA impact.

We both looked at each other like

Another person was a friend whos a casual wrestling fan. He know about tna, but he says its the size of a high school and he calls the ring stupid.

My pops isn't harsh about the crowd, but he hates the ring and he not much of a fan of that x division stuff. His taste is stuck in that 80s nwa/awa wrestling.

It's hard being a wrestling smark. Comic book fans, fan of football teams, fan of basketball teams, star wars fans can come in contact with each easily while being out and about.

Coming across another wrestling smark is like finding a 4 leaf clover nowadays.

Friend who watches everything WWE but not much outside of it. He hasn't watched in years until I showed him the 2 out of 3 falls Cesaro match. He watches every week with the enthusiasm of a 10 year old. I miss having that wrestling innocence

i know some indy wrestlers based in KC and I photograph for an indie fed. they only been around for a year so they not nice yet. So i know quite a few. But outside of that like none. A lot of my friends watched in highschool during attitude era. But many of them weren't really wrestling fans to begin with. But I always run into people that talk about how wack wrestling was then they wanna talk ya ear off for an hour about wrestling.
