i was wondering when the next big eruption would be recently too...
If I remember correctly, Japan had some really well made sea walls as a measure against tsunamis. That shyt was easily overcome by the one in 2011. Their solution was just to build them bigger lol.need to build artifical seawalls
But tsunamis are dangerous not because of the height but because of the huge mass of water is behind them. I'm not even sure if humans can realistic stop that kind of power. At most, maybe mitigate the impact to a certain extent.

There's enough data going back 100-200 years to know which areas in the world have more of a chance of getting natural disasters. Why live in those places outside of just vacationing?

Been teaching my kids about planets and when we get to Jupiter I'm telling them about the great red spot and it's just insane to me that a storm of almost 300mph winds several times larger than the earth has been continuously raging for at least 300 years.
