I don’t believe the threshold production budget to get on Tubi is 500k or a million. Notice he said both, which doesn’t make any sense.

I know multiple people who are still getting projects on Tubi with budgets nowhere near that, and they are black folks.

Tubi not being black owned was never a secret. Black folks should not be discouraged from using it to make good money, especially if the alternative being offered isn’t paying close to those amounts. If anything she should be promoting her platform as another option to run content in addition Tubi.

WB’d them.

Cats will bust their asses for these other platforms but sidestep the effort to build something from scratch.

Insane.
I don’t think it’s sidestepping; it’s smart business. Why not put a project on Tubi where you can bring in 5 figures a month off something that cost $25-100k to make, and try to build another platform at the same time?

That’s like telling someone to turn down an overseas basketball contract to stay home and play in a league for free

They bought it like 2 years ago

Fox bought it in March 2020

Fox showed us...Upn showed us..NBC showed us..WB showed us...they use US still they get eyes on thier networks then they pull the rug and give us the finger. When Tubi 1st started it was nothing but black movies and shows all over now u gotta scroll a while til they pop up.

Tubi was around since 2014. That time you speak of is much later under the ownership of Fox. They were just trying something new to build engagement.

Issac Hayes son need to figure out how to make Fanbase more appealing. If there’s any content creators here please help me out with this one… do you have to give tax info and social security numbers to TikTok in order to make money? I really wanted to help Fanbase out but all the info they wanted in order for me to try to make money was an instant turn off. Anyway, is there any good well known alternatives for these people to go to for their movies? I mean some of these actors have made names for themselves on tubi alone. It would be great If they had a good alternative besides the big streamers and tubi. Too bad you can’t go out here and sling dvds like in the old days :ohhh:

I was totally with whatever they were talking about until the lady in green started talking. Then she started babbling. She gave off cone man vibes

She tried to do the thing that white Democrats do, where They have a personal agenda, but they don't want to go straight to the personal agenda. They we'll talk about a racial justice issue which has nothing to do with their personal agenda, then they will imply that their personal profits or agenda are somehow linked, by painting their personal agenda as A victory for black people; while in actuality it's a personal victory for her.

I would have been totally with her, if she talked about Trump's attempts to pull grants from black media or defund the African American history infrastructure in DC. But She wasn't even smart enough to do this. Instead she talks about the national guardsmen in DC and insinuates that you putting your reality TV show program on her network is going to solve that problem.

I much prefer the sales pitch of the first guy in the video. He isn't selling sensationalism, he is pointing out the numbers clearly states his interest in the venture.
You are literally babbling yourself :mjlol:

Not necessarily. They are gentrifying the brand. It might work.

It's an extremely common practice to get a lot of black people to use your product and then kick them off and get the bigger market of white people to use your product. The goal is to sap the coolness of black people without actually compensating us.
What are the white peope using Tubi for? They have a bunch of old shows and movies… then you find the black independent movies. Are white people also making low budget horribly shot and edited movies for Tubi as well? If they are then maybe white people will just take over that lane and have a more gentrified Tubi
