I disagree with his analysis on Wale (who I believe is growing artistically and coming into his own). The hate and lack of acceptance has created a drive in him that I feel might get to the point where it's unmatched.

Not taking a shot, but dude addressed why people like his music already: "I don’t know, maybe this is a generational thing - you young people sure are in love with yourselves and maybe you need stars who are equally self-obsessed."

I also think a lot of people like Cole because they like what they believe he stands for. They feel like they're supporting a Nas-type of artist, even though they're nothing alike. When they like Cole, they can say they're supporting an underdog type of artist who raps about "real stuff." Which he does - he just doesn't do it *exceptionally* well, to some of us. I'm happy to see him winning - I just hope that him winning doesn't make him complacent and not push himself.

bra i am a big fan of cole so i actually care about his music but my question is why do nikkaz who hate his music keep harping on it, i think because he has way more fans than they favorite and they feel some type of way about it

People like me speak on him because it's a bit frustrating - we see his skill, we see his potential, but we don't think he does a good job of living up to it musically. I liked his mixtape work, and I value his perspective - just feel like he needs to step it up.
