It didn't last long because of their issues with the label in the 80s and of course Madonna's attitude. Prince was hard on Madonna. Never missed a chance to diss her after he dumped her. She dissed him back in the media but changed her tune in the 90s. Just like MJ's beef with Madonna, she would dedicate shows to Prince and profess her love for him and his music in interviews. He repaid her with a diss every time. They settled things a year before he passed.
