Turkey's deputy prime minister, Bülent Arınç, sparked controversy Monday when he said women should not laugh out loud in public. During a rant against the country's "moral corruption," Arınç said that a woman “should not laugh loudly in front of all the world and should preserve her decency at all times," The Guardian reports. "A man should be moral but women should be moral as well, they should know what is decent and what is not decent."
