PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – She’s back!

CBS has announced the revival of its classic comedy series “Murphy Brown” for the 2018-2019 television season.

The series revival has been given a 13-episode commitment from Warner Bros. along with CBS.

Candice Bergen, who starred in the original series from 1988-1998, will reprise her role as the titular character. With its 30th anniversary approaching, “Murphy Brown” returns to a new world of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate.

During the show’s original 10-year run on CBS, “Murphy Brown” won 18 Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Bergen also won 5 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

In 2010, TV Guide named Murphy Brown one of the “25 Greatest TV Characters of All Time.”

they need to reboot girlfriends or a show like it. i liked seeing the mix of professional black women with the wanderer and hustler. the new shows geared toward black women (insecure, she's gotta have it, dear white people) definitely skew to the "struggling" artsy "woke" blipster type blacks, or you got bullshyt reality tv and IG model "net celebrity" drama, i miss seeing the depiction of middle of the road black women.

I’d be down for a Girlfriends reboot. Even tho it was a comedy, that show was legit.

I’ll never forget that one episode when ol girl was HIV positive and they were cooking and she cut herself and they thought she was about to contaminate the whole apt. I had never seen nothing like that.

Will and Grace is back on air. Sister Sister is coming back. They hinted at a Moesha reboot some months ago.

I really only give a fukk about Moesha out of this bunch, only so we can see what happened to Myles.

If only Tommy and Uncle Phil were still living, we could have gotten that Martin and Fresh Prince reboot.

Nah, networks can't afford will smith and martin lawerance anymore.

I think the tried to reboot In Living Color it was worthy
And I kind of agree with Roc. I know I was actually watching them reruns every morning before I went to work on bounce. It's a good show that kind of held up. It's a really underrated black show. But knowing these millenials they'd be mad that dude is a garbage man and not a yoga instructor.

Sliders needs to come back.

Just finished watching Sliders two months ago even though i vaguely recall it as a kid and it was fun to watch.

The movie Parallels was very similar to Sliders and Fox is even developing a TV show currently titled "The Building" based on it.

Loved Roc, but they're not interested in that kind of Black-ish. Different world would be great to see, but the taint of what they did to Cosby would be near impossible to remove. White people would look at the return of Different World as an attempt to redeem the Cosby brand. If not in Living Color, I'd love to see what Keenan is up to, as he's been kind of silent, unless he's just eating off those Scary Movie pics.

In today's world with Reddit, Twitter etc., this show would be everywhere. Or they can make it funny and do some crossover shyt with Game of Thrones. Omar tryna shoot dragons down to save Baltimore. Jon Snow taking the whole season to journey from East Baltimore to West Baltimore. Stringer Bell smashing Cersei on the side while Jamie is away fighting Prop Joe.

Urban fantasy is best fantasy.
