twc,comcast,att,verizon throttles youtube speeds. (fix inside to make youtube fast)

if i watched a 1080p vid in the past it would always load slow. found out online twc is throttling/slows youtube/vimeo speeds. not just timewarner cable, but every major internet provider slows youtube.com

NOW TO HOW TO FIX! The fix is easy!!!​

what you have to to is block these youtube caches (206.111.0.0/16 and 173.194.55.0/24) so the video player will then fall back on google data centers and stream faster.

to check if the rule has been added in mac, type sudo ipfw list (remember the number thats in front of the rule if you want to remove it later)
to remove a rule in mac, type sudo ipfw delete spacebar once and then add the rule number.

now when i watch 720/1080p videos on youtube, i see the grey loading bar zoom right through, superman speed

Because the contract you signed with them will have a section where you agree they will be able to limit their services to be able to provide an equal service to all customers by limiting speed at peak times, port blocking, so on and so forth. Similar to fair usage clauses on unlimited plans.

i dont know bout your state but in california you dont sign a contract for comcast or uverse
