Twenty Years Ago Today...

We lost Owen Hart, brehs. I can remember that night crystal clear. I had ordered the Over the Edge PPV and remember when the tragedy happened. I was also in WWF's AOL Chat Room that night and about 20 of them opened up that night after that. Then later that night, JR confirmed every wrestling fans worst fears:



Owen was dead. That really shook me to the core. I always remember after the PPV was over putting in my Wrestlemania 10 tape and watching Bret vs. Owen. What a terrible night.

I always enjoyed hearing the stories about Owen and how he was one of the locke room's best ribber. Whether it be the time he pulled a rib on Lex Luger where Lex thought he was going to jail or the rib he pulled on Hacksaw Jim Duggan. It sounds like he was almost universally loved in the locker room.

I was listening to a podcast recently where it covered Owens last day

They said when he fell he landed on his arm or sum shyt and a witness described it as looking like someone scooped a part of his arm out like ice cream, there was no blood, just flesh.

Was watching the PPV live and still have a VHS copy of it in storage somewhere. It might be the only show that I taped that I never watched a second time.

Such a terrible tragedy that was completely avoidable he should've never been up there in the first place.

I believe he was gonna win the IC title that night too if I'm not mistaken.

So sad

i was reading up on this awhile ago and stumbled across some extremely graphic pics of the ring, there was about 12 people in the ring and a pool of blood that looked like it was covering like 1/4th of the whole ring

surprised half the crowd didn't leave, shyt looked like a crime scene

I know there's pictures but yeah that is insane. I guess since it was a lower tier match that (and I hate saying this) that nobody gave a crap about, nobody had a camera out at the time.
