I can't name one rapper from Dallas. I can't even think of a song. Is Stinky Leg from there?

Maybe worst is a strong word, cuz I ain't never heard nothing good out of Dallas or Milwaukee, but for real, the stuff coming out of here...meh.

I think Brother Ali is good and I respect him because I've seen him at various anti-foreclosure and labor union related stuff, but not really into him too much.

This is probably blasphemy to some people, but I think Atmosphere is garbage. I can't get past the voice. The rest of the stuff that dominates the scene is other Rhymesayers and then Doomtree related stuff. I don't really know how to describe it, but its sort of like backpack rap if such a thing was originally influenced by white punk/hipster culture.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Local radio doesn't really seem to support artists that are outside the type of hip-hop that I already mentioned. TC folks on here, am I overlooking something?

....50 tyson is a legend tho :mjpls::krs:......

I think there was an ep of First 48 in the twin cities where a dude got shot while walking down the street with his chick. First and last time hearing of the place and I've traveled to over 20 states including layovers

yeah, '05 2 '09

shyt was bad then, all that has died down. Police cracked down heavy on north and south mpls in 2009 and kinda weeded out a grip of criminals. Police were posted up at every liquor store, gas station, grocery store and main st at night. Then north pushed some black folks to brooklyn center by raising property rates and destroying and rebuilding foreclosed homes. Now north side and south dont look anything like they used to.

There's always been white people on the northside though. That's where some of the older white immigrant communities are. Although, it seems now there's 'arty' ones moving in, which I'm assuming you're talking about.

Yeah Brooklyn Center when I went through the first time, I'm like...this is a suburb in Minnesota, what's with all black folk? That's before I knew the reverse white flight and gentrification going on
