How many black men in here routinely worry about being sexually assaulted on the way home? How many black men in here have had trouble finding an abortion doctor because of pro-life activism? How many black men in here have been discredited on account of their gender? Of the 67% of AA single parent households, how many do you think are fatherless vs motherless? Of the disproportionately high number of domestic violence within the AA community, how much is male-on-female vs female-on-male? This society was created for and by wealthy white males, so if you share any of those characteristics, you will benefit from some privilege. Black males have male privilege on account of the their male status.

Black men have male privilege. I don't understand why they don't just call it male privilege, why call it Black Male Privilege? Black men only have privilege over Black women. There's no privilege that black males enjoy that men of other races don't. Black Male privilege is simply male privilege over Black women. Not over women of any other race. There's no trophies for being Male AND Black. Only trophies for being Male.

It shouldn't, but historically it has. It's important when we look at coalition building and resource allocation. Black women have been passed over and ignored by white feminists on account of their difference. This "we're on the same side" rhetoric is nice in theory, but more often than not doesn't hold up in practice and is used by the dominant underclass to get the minority underclass on their side.

3. When I learn about the Civil Rights Movement & the Black Power Movements, most of the leaders that I will learn about will be black men.
