depends on your views :jbhmm:
socially, in a completely homogenous black environment, they have whatever privilege men would have but financially and socially when you add in other races social and financial power, it's not much
You bring up a good point. People here are looking at privilege through a small lense. But with most topics here, people need to remember their audience and not get caught up trying to educate people who are not open to different perspectives.

Some ideas are abit nuanced and complex, harder to explain than pointing to a big number on a stat sheet.

If you really want to understand, have a daughter and watch her grow in this world.
no no no no no no at the bolded

when we talk about privilege we're talking about social constructs
your daughter is mostly at a disadvantage from being a woman because women are usually way physically weaker than the average dude and (controversial opinion) unable to compete with men at several aspects of life.

That's a biological difference, not a social one. Unless you're one of those feminist that believe that human gender dimorphism is a result of the patriarchy as well :bryan:(I didn't make that shyt up)

Considering he wasn't brutally raped by his master and forced to carry the product of that assault... I would think so.
Also, this is entirely irrelevant, there were explicit advantages to being a male in a chattel slave system, but Black men aren't enslaved in America today (no matter how much these whiny twats on this website will make their 9-5 sound like it), and the power system is radically different.

Cuz he wasn't raped... :deadmanny:

Some of yall are just on another level of dumb

I do have a daughter :heh: I didn't ask you for stats. I could give you all kinds of stats that show that black women are privileged over black men. Some have already been posted by others. I asked you for specific examples of privilege. For instance, when analyzing white male privilege over white women you can cite specific examples. White men are hired before white women, they make more than white women in the same jobs, they're promoted before white women, and they have a higher rate of upward mobility in employment than white women. Those are all specific examples of privilege in the job market alone. You can't do the same in regards to black men compared to black women. Black men don't enjoy those kind of systematic privileges. In fact, it's the opposite. Black women enjoys a lot of systematic privileges over black men in damn near facet of society. Whether it's the legal system, health care, education, or the job market black men face the most discrimination.

You aren't making an impartial argument that's grounded in facts. You're making an ideological argument based on emotion and fallacies.

Do black men have privilege? This here is a loaded question. The funny thing about white supremacy is that it is based on the idea that whites are "normal" and all other races wired to be mentally, physically and culturally abnormal. It is no coincidence that the average black stereotype is the opposite of the average Asian stereotype. If all black men have horse dikks, then all Asian men must have micro dikks. If all black men have low intelligence, then all Asian men must have high intelligence. It's the the three bears effect where white people promote extreme stereotypes about minorities to make themselves feel "normal":

The Three Bears Effect

And stereotypes do negatively effect the way men of color are treated everyday of our lives. That being said, both black men and Asian men in America are emasculated, but in completely opposite ways. Black men are emasculated by being denied jobs, being incarcerated at high rates and being murdered at higher rates. Asian men are emasculated in the fact that no one really respects them, women of all races refuse to fukk them and even their own women proudly proclaim that they think cac men are better. So in every category where Asian men have social privilege, black men do not, but every category black men have privilege, Asian men do not. And I do think that Asian men do have it hard. I hear cacs and every race say openly racist things about Asian men and no one bats an eye. So many Asian brehs snap and wind up on the news for some crazy homicidal shyt because Asian men are not considered to be real men in America. Imagine if black women started dating and marrying cacs en masse, every race of women thought you were ugly and nasty for your race alone and the only black men on TV were effeminate punchlines thrown in for laughs.

Truth and logic
I know black women get the gutter a lot, but black men sometimes get the shafts more than they do in certain areas like police abuse. I don't mean to insult any black women's experiences of course .

Its just that the racial structure of america kind of hurts black men from enjoying much privelage, like with racial profiling.

.

If black men and women are pulled over by the police far more than white folks, but black men have far more confrontational/violent/lethal interactions, where's that privilege?

There's more, and I know it sounds a bit like angry and "cac claiming reverse racism"-y, but I am legit asking where my privilege as a black man lies.

- black males are fetishsized, we're often seen a brute walking dildos
- no other group is assaulted or killed as much as black men

Bm get shot down everyday by cops

Hell no

My response is based on the overall sentiment I have seen in this thread and others. My response is not a response to any post in particular.

Why is there this notion that black women are protected from physical violence?

Mike Brown
Freddie Gray
Eric Garner
John Crawford
Tamir Rice
Walter Scott

Do those names ring a bell? Probably.

How about

Tanisha Anderson
Yvette Smith
Darnisha Harris
Shereese Francis
Tarika Wilson
Kathryn Johnston
Kendra James

How familiar is the second set of names? Perhaps vaguely.

We know who Emmett Till is, but do you know the story of Mildrey Brown?

Some would argue that black men have the privilege of ignoring the plight of black women, but I won't argue that. I will just say that black women have been lynched, hosed down, attacked by dogs, falsely arrested, beaten and killed by police right alongside black men.Why does this fact get dismissed?

This is not an oppression competition, but it is important to be accurate and acknowledge that we are in this together.

so basically, BM privilege is being recognized more for something that has disproportionately happened to black men more? got it.
