Is this really true? That's 1.4 billion a year in losses. For a publicly traded company before Elon took over we would have known that and honestly don't see how many investor would be comfortable with that. Either way if it's true then yes a ton of people should be laid off but other forms on revenue streams is needed but this $8 not gona be it.

Youtube is ad friendly. They bend over backwards for their loyalty and they share revenue with uploaders (some). Their "strict" TOS attracts corporations. Plus they have the backing of Google.
None of this applies to Twitter and in some cases, Twitter is doing the direct opposite.
There's no competition btwn the two, at the moment. If anything, this may hurt the YouTube to Twitter pipeline that ppl frequently use follow their favorite YouTubers.
