Exploiting is strong.

Yea, I get at Kenny, but, the lil nikka didn't make up being traumatized, growing up n Compton

Everybody emotional and lashing out.

I've look at him funny since that interview where they mention Top Dawg said 'no political question,' etc.

But, I'm not gonna play him like he Aubrey Graham and shyt

People forget but there was a little bit of an issue when TPAB dropped and Kendrick was asked about Ferguson and he said his concern was more whats happening in the communtity and I think they pulled him doung any press for that reasons (Even on blacker the berry the last line is interesting)
But I dnt think Kendrick thinks police isnt the issue though cause hes rapped about it too

the ether
People need to realise that celebrities aren't the answer to fix things.

Enjoy their craft but stop worshipping and expecting them to fix everything
These people don't even WANT the celebrities to "fix" anything, they just want them to tweet so they have something to talk about/criticize.

Social media culture is seriously idiotic.

:mjlol:y'all making too many excuses and hate accountability. If she is talking about Kendrick, he has nothing to lose and everything to gain from talking. This man dropped TPAB and y'all called it Album on the decade, and excusing him from making any comments about the topic matter discussed in the album.
Guy does not fw with social media. The man hasnt posted a thing in like the past month. So why expect him to post now. Kenrick didnt even post when his kid was born
And he took a chance and it directly after his acclaimed debut. Had an unconventional lead single singing "I love myself" and embraced a jazz/neo soul sound in the middle of a sea of trap production. He might not be the perfect messenger, but when he has a chance to represent, you clearly can tell where his intentions and efforts are. Some are allowed to take pics in blackface and placate to tik tok trends when its their turn on the mic, yet someone who at least tries to use their platform in an uplifting manner for the community is the one that gets nitpicked over all because he didn't tweet. Weird times.
im on the side that critiquing Kendrick for this is stupid.

But the idea of using TPAB as a excuse is just as idiotic as the naysayers saying hes a coward for not speaking up
TPAB was no Public enemy album or anything

it had its little moments social commentary(surface level) but alot of the album wasnt about social issues. It was more introspective. Not really attacking the issues of black people like he's Dead prez.
I don't agree with this whole coming at Kendrick thing that those Twitter heads are going for especially given the fact that he doesn't even tweet or post on any social media.

But let's not go overboard. If he were to go on a run of saying anything stupid or make dumb comments like he used to do back in 2014(and 2015 i think he said something). He is not someone who excused because " he made TPAB" nah. Which really isn't really even a pro Black album as guys like to hype it up to be

This seems like a shot at Drake if anything

It's probably not aimed at anyone in particular but if it is then it surely ain't Drake. When has he ever released conscious shyt like To Pimp a Butterfly?

I like Drake but the stuff in the tweet really doesn't apply to him nearly as much as it does Kendrick or Cole.

This celebrity obsession is killing alot of people's ability to be individuals and have personality

Honestly celebrities are the false idols and people worship them

So true. Many of us fans are guilty of it. Some don't like to admit it.

A lot of us need to detoxify our stannery

Kendrick has spoke on this before and if you listened to what he said you would understand his silence, i share the exact same opinion as him and if i was in kendricks position i wouldn't tweet nothing or speak on it any further than he did either.
