Twitter is now saying that Kendrick Lamar put an end to Atlanta’s run in hip hop.

I wonder if the recent RICO fukkery in Atlanta is the main reason we aren't seeing the next heir apparent emerge there. There was this steady period where every few years the next guy popped up, got hot in the streets and then reached the white underclass groups (white boys in cities, white hood chicks, college kids, etc) before hitting the white mainstream.

Lil Baby's reign really flopped hard after starting so promising.
There was too much violence. Honestly if they just ironically went the Gunna way of just doing fly shyt but Thug and Lucci were too active and they had to step in. Future even had kinda moved past the localized street shyt per se…but… yeah

You can’t talk shyt with prosecutors looking to revoke your probation.

AZ just signed a major deal and has been getting mad praise, he's hella talented. Dody6 is crazy too. Gnx actually featured super talented up and coming talents that been getting a lot of hype on the west. You may not like them, but its just your taste. The talent is there, the hype is there too.
you really put those two words next to each other :mjlol:

to your credit, at least they werent in the same sentence :yeshrug:

dody6 sounds like he has no teeth in his mouth when he raps, and he constantly stumbles over his own lyrics. i dont know how you put out four albums without knowing how to rap. i admit im a broke ass hater but dudes music does nothing for me

Idk about that. Playboy carti did the same numbers first week as Kendrick himself.

I think that hiphop’s population is large and diverse enough for garbage (imo) like Carti to co-exist with say Kendrick

Nobody was running it.

NO a city of 300k had two of the highest grossing and most dominating labels at the time.

New Orleans was definitely at its peak back then, but in terms of running hip hop it was still NY and LA that was running it back then IMO.

Atlanta was running hip hop for much of the 2010s too, but musically their peak was late-2000s and early-2010s IMO.

Saheem can hold Atlanta down. He got it next project.

As long as he never makes another video.

I would put more people on to sah babi easy. Yet all his videos so offbrand. That it makes it hard to be like. Yo listen to dude.

Sah babi need to just make his great music and leave the imagery alone.
Only drawback to sah babi is sometimes he will make a common can i buss with ynot style record. That goes to far down the styles rabbit hole. Yet outside of that. Kid could be batting a 1.000.
Zach farlow and sah babi are the two atl artist who have arguably the best muaic in their respefrive styked sub genre. They jist make really great music. Yet need to have better imagery or output. To this day i still spin both in my personal listening.
When people hear what i am playing. Always ask. Who is this.
I need to listen to that.

So this suggestion is spot on.
