:mjlol: I hear that

But curious - what are you bumping now? Whats been in rotation for you the past 2-3 months?
alot of underground shyt tbh. MIKE, Larry June, Curren$y, Roc Marciano, Mach-Hommy, DOOM, Koncept Jackson, pretty much anything the Alchemist is connected to.

Xavier Wulf, Bones, Chris Travis and that era too. that was the era when I was becoming an adult, Tyler etc. I hate when black peoples art is all thrown under one umbrella because Hip Hop has many different genres and footpaths.

obviously a lot of older classic shyt such as gangstar, nas the gza etc....im a lyrical miracle spiritual type of guy. but dipset and other shyt from that era is also in rotation too. i can also listen to cartis old shyt from when he was with awful and even some of his newer shyt. i have a wide taste, ill crack open some AIC or SOundgarden and Metallica, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, TOOL etc...I just prefer older artists or artists who take their craft seriously.

my favorite hip hop artist right now is MIKE, who've i've seen a few times live, he opened for earl and the alchemist. his shyt is not for everyone but if you do fukk with it you will fukk with it.

to me this is his most commercially viable project.

he has an alter eo DJ BLACKPOWER which is some house mixed with so me other ish, but it's dope to me....I can't really send you a single song that sums up his style at all because it's all over the place.

and you?

Okay shyt we got similar tastes then cause Alchemist my favorite producer of all time so I listen to everything he connected to as well but for the past year it’s been a lot of Larry June and Rome Streetz. But I always got Roc Marciano (saw him live in Toronto earlier this year) in rotation, Earl, MIKE, some Spitta as well, some Nipsey but I do like some of the young nikkas like Carti and Yeat, I usually bump their shyt when I’m working out cause of the production and energy of the records or I’m driving and wanna get hyped for some shyt lol.

Mainstream wise I had Drake/PND in rotation earlier this year when that dropped and I liked it, nice for the winter and I’m always looking for drops from Future, Thug, Kenny (and anything from Q, Soul, Rock) etc but sadly these bruhs are on the back end of their musical outputs so the music has slowed down. Still got some GNX records in rotation tho

Old school wise Nas and P my favorite rappers so I always got something from them in rotation but lately been listening to a lot of Big Pun. Crazy underrated catalogue- outside of hip hop it’s bands like Men I Trust, Magdalena Bay, Beach House, Portishead and R&B wise been bumping a lot of Keela, Kali Uchis and Jorja Smith (seen her earlier this year too live, bad as fukk :noah: )

A lot of other shyt mixed in but this what’s been in rotation the last six months to year.

this was crazy

yea diggin in the crates, they got some shyt, they the reason we even have dipset and other acts.

have you ever listened to ethereal? it makes me shed a tear how theres so much fire music and we get stuck with like sexy redd or whatever.

give this a listen, he also has a female artist named Alexandria I really like ALOT. IMO i really love his music and he may be one of the greatest artists you never heard of:

this the type of shyt that reminds me of what i was doing a decade ago. crazy how time flies fukk.

the reason i fukk with him, MIKE and other artists in that lane is because they totally handle all their production and creative.

nikkas talking about album sales like that changes the fact that Travis would get bodied

Everyone on social media treating it like Pusha T is bullying a special ed child because they know travis cant rap for shyt :dead:

i wouldn't call travis a rapper tbh. he is an artist, similar to kanye or like a cudi.

push is a rappers rapper, he's more similar to jay with the luxury coke rap. they are not in the same lane and i hate the fact that we can't just enjoy them both for what they are.

it's like nikkas saying yo! the beatles is more popular than mj or vice versa. like who gives the fukk? they both make great music.

the tweet was for the drake stans and hookahsexuals :russ:

anyway commercial viability is one thing but the singles that the clipse/push have are way more classic and memorable, especially if you were around back then.

not taking away from travis but nothing he put out is as legendary as that early 00s star trak run. mr. mee too, grindin, wamp wamp (what it do) are way more memorable to me than any travis scotts.

shyt even the slim thug shyt with the neptunes is doper and sonically deeper. but i dont think its smart to compare the two. they are in two different lanes, and to throw everything under the same hip hop umbrella is a disservice. there are subgenres

According to who?

Literally go out and see if people remember those songs (outside of the grindin') instrumental and then ask them to name a Travis Scott song.

I'm not arguing artistic abilities or your personal preference. Just that you and everyone else are legit smoking crack if you think pusha t is bigger, recognizable, etc than Travis period.

It just wholly disconnected from reality.

Push can out rap him, make better music, etc. That is true. But y'all actually trying to argue he's as culturally relevant is insane

Depends on the culture you exist in.

Only time will tell if Travis lasts as long as Push. Again they are not in the same lane. Both can be enjoyed.

I never even said anything about bro being more or less relevant. I do not care about that conversation because they are two different kinds of men.
Travis is a dude who is not above making snake moves. Push seems like a down to earth VA dude.

I hate comparing artists in different lanes.

DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)
tf is a black outcast :mjlol:

thats like saying outkast was never mainstream, alternative is the new mainstream bruh...unless you a bloated oldhead or a super street dude
Black outcasts are like the nikkas in the hood that’s different, a bit weird in comparison to hood kids. Not necessarily smart but just have different hobbies that are not common in the urban environment.

OutKast was mainstream and got heavy play in the hood, Travis does not outside of a few feature records with Drake and Thug. OutKast was strictly hip hop up until like Hey Ya came out. They threw hints they were changing in Bombs over Baghdad on Stankonia.
