Women's education is part of the reason why so many simps exist in the first place (there's plenty of thots at colleges breh). Women go to and graduate college at higher rates than men do since the 70's. Educated women don't want less educated men, so this leave alot of men without a potential woman.

This "shift" is in fact nothing new, but just a continuation of social trends since the 60's.
