Twitter trashes Sza's singing performance at Coachella

She's obviously not used to moving around and singing. She sounds like a rookie who is out of breath and shyt, like a rapper basically. Certain singers need to stand still, find zend and sing, not everyone is Beyonce.

It could be that she had issues hearing herself over the music or something technically wrong with her ear piece. I heard her sing Coachella before and do way better then this.

SZA’s voice isnt traditionally good even on wax, so not surprised it sounds funny live.


That said, she doesn’t sound too off from her records. she sounds like she had a combination of issues going on. She needs vocal coaching for live performances, she needs to do some cardiovascular conditioning and practice singing while moving (I remember Beyonce saying her dad had them running 3-5 miles a days while singing so they could hold notes thru movement), and lastly she kinda seems shook, Coachella is big as fukk, might be the biggest (and most important) crowd she’s played thus far, nerves may have gotten to her.

i sought this tack out b/c that beat is hard. her voice actually does all those weird inflections and breaks on the actual track tho. as others hav said she just sounded kinda winded not bad. everybody aint belting out power ballads.

Said the same thing in another thread. Normally I try to support artist from my hometown but for one I never knew she was from St. Louis and two I can’t understand what she saying. I don’t understand the hype over her.

My favorite song off of Anti and I gotta disagree. Her pitch and tone were totally off and this was the first song of her performance that night, so I’m not sure about being winded. She’s just not a good performer
