What content does he provide? Everyone with engagement is not a content creator or provider. I doubt edge lords are getting anything more than clout.

With the new pay and view count model, Twitter/X is giving direct cash payouts to blue check accounts that generate the most content and engagement. It won't last long but for right now, big(ger) "verified" accounts are doing everything in their power to ragebait for engagement because their content is automatically pushed on users and X view counts are wildly skewed so there's some fast, easy money to be made.

But even before this though, going viral off bullshyt Tweets was a way to get a check from a third party Chinese scam company by advertising their janky ass LED strip lights, plushies and sex toys. So-called Twitter clout chasers haven't just been chasing clicks and views to seem popular for a while now.
