Like it or not Rock still had a lot to give and causals/fans ate every second up. Jericho is the king of innovation and the most dedicated/old (works a full schedule) part timer out there and because of that, dude can find ways to stay fresh. Hell, I guarantee you Big Show, Kane & Mark Henry could do SOMETHING to spark interest too but they are enhancement talents now. Taker the oldest part timer out there and dude still picking up crazy reactions. Goldberg stepped out for almost 15 years, to a negative reaction at that, and comes back untouched. Brock left for 8 years and can come back and still have people invested into what he’s doing. Cena is up next. Dude is def going to be one of the last of the star breed. He’s already down that path now tbh.

Long story short, its telling that the stars. The Characters are fading. The new generation has breeded some great wrestlers and good people but they will not hold up to the characters of the past 20 years. Its not all their fault though because a lot lies into the booking and creative too which just fukking sucks most of the time.

Knowing what we know now about the effects of spending several decades in this business, I can't blame dudes for wanting to taper off into retirement :yeshrug:

Think it started way before Rock even in the 90s dudes like Piper and Snuka were on that wave then Hogan in the 00s etc

As for the last of the breed shyt and who will hold up, never underestimate nostalgia generation to generation and who grows up to tell the past. Everytime people say who now from recent times can match the 80s and 90s guys, dont forget kids now will talk about The Shield, Wyatts, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Finn Balor, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk the same way. I think the Ruthless Agression era was forced as hell but people rate Edge, Batista, Angle, Hardyz like they on that 80s/90s level too.

Except Piper and Snuka were nowhere in the same galaxy as over as Rock and weren't breaking records as maineventers like Rock did.
