I mean as an entire state. If chicago (city) was as bad as the media like to portray it there'd be a lot more officer deaths or even officers injured in the line of duty. It's simple, the numbers aren't there. Chicago pd ain't doing anything better than other departments, so the fact that entire other states consistently out number chicago pd's death rate, assault rate and everything else yet Chicago still continues to be a scapegoat for crime and murder/homocide, especially when as pointed out here it's murder homicide rate is lower than other cities is just bullshyt. And I'd have to look at it but I believe CPD has or had a higher closing rate for murders than other cities LA, NYC, Baltimore, etc etc. Meaning if you did murder someone or get murdered by someone there was a significant chance they'd arrest the killer.
