If you can't protect yourself from an animal charging at you dead center, you're a failure of a human. Look at videos of hunters stumbling into a situation with a wild animal, they freeze up. If you can keep calm and plan out a way to attack, you will win that fight every time, moose can't climb trees, they can't free themselves from a wedged position.
