:jbhmm:If you are aware that you live in a system that is designed to see you fail, shouldn't you do everything in your power to stay out of trouble?

:jbhmm:If you are aware that this is a society that sees you as "intellectually inferior" shouldn't you do everything in your power to destroy such notions?

Agreed. I think as parents aunts uncles neighbors and just adults we should continue to stress both of these points to our children/the youth.

Truth be told I really worry about this 1st and 2nd generation of more upwardly mobile black folks that really have their children thinking that they're "special " and better than "those other negroes"

There needs to be a balance in pushing the youth to achieve and how to survive. That's the reality for us in this country.

No, every single black person in this country could get a bachelors degree and not commit a crime for 10 years and we'll still be hated.

1. If the system is designed to see you fail no matter what then it's pointless to try to stay out of trouble, yes or no? Legit question. Also if there is no light at the end of the tunnel whats the point?

2. If society sees us as intellectually inferior then it is pointless in trying to destroy the myth because they have already made up their minds, yes or no?

I'd take that knowledge, lay low and plan to systematically take down said regime. Level by level. Details.

Everything else is a mere distraction.

If every Black person in this country got a Bachlor's degree I don't think it would matter if we were hated or not, we'd have a lot more opportunities to make money to build up our communities if that happened. Plus such an event would destroy stereotypes so I seriously think racism would reduce a bit.

1. I'd say no. As flawed as the system is it still can't force you to commit actions that would make you fail, would you agree with me on that? I think the light at the end of the tunnel would be getting a good job and helping your family.

2. And for this I just flat out disagree bro. I've spoken on this before, but in college a lot of times I would be the only Black person in the classroom (Especially towards my final semesters). I could see a lot of the White kids expected me to not be as smart as I was, but I proved them wrong. A lot of them went from looking at me skeptically on the first day of class to asking me for help with assignments and asking for advice on what to do better in class. I think one can destroy that myth very quickly if we actually focused on it.

I agree they would still find a new reason to hate us.

I'm looking at it from the other angle though,

I'm not foolish enough to believe this would change the way they are at all.

I want our youth to know these things (they're never gonna get a pass, they will always assume the worst of them)
In at least an attempt to keep our kids safer.

I want them to be overachiever s for themselves and their communities, and because they're always gonna have to work at least twice as hard as the others.
Not to impress those people.

Idk if I agree with this line of thinking that they would hate us no matter what. Don't get me wrong, Racism will always exist. But even with all of the negative stereotypes of Black people out there you can still find a lot of Whites who overlook such things and see us as their brothers. Sure those people are a minority, but I can't help but to think more and more of those kinds of people would emerge if we focused on education and avoided committing crimes.

How can you stay out of trouble if there is a system designed to get you in trouble? Obviously a bias system will give a pass to others for the same offense.

And there is a difference between right/wrong and whats legal. Slavery was legal at one point, doesn't make it right

Either you a CAC or a young dumb mofo that don't know shyt about shyt to ask these questions.

Um, once again the system can't force you to commit crimes. You're probably one of those idiots who commit crimes and then blames it on "The system".
