Her situation is funny.

Its not the music that's turning people off. Her TYLA album was really good.

It's her personality/the way she carries herself.

She's caught in a culture clash, as seen with the "coloured" discussion and the "uppity African" critique thrown at her.

Seems she or her team didn't feel it necessary to code switch while campaigning in the states. Shame cuz I like what she's bringing musically.

The pan-africans vs ADOS/FBA war is lowkey bleeding a lot of artists.

Nowhere did it say her budget was cut
It’s obvious that brokies love to see non-white people broke.

A girl is doing her own hair and these comedians are like “musicians ain’t got it like that” “that’s why I quit the business” “there’s no money in streaming”:unimpressed:

she's just very vapid & shallow
:ufdup::ufdup::ufdup:

True. She has no depth or will to advance technical aspects of her career.
In the shallowest sense she is pop star. She's popular, she's a celebrity. She reminds me of Danileigh.

Yes tf it is and she's even said so herself. She has even wore shyt inspired by shyt Aaliyah wore in the past.
You not understanding. She can say she is influenced by somebody. But her songs don’t have to reflect that. You can tell by her musical discography she sounds nothing like Aaliyah. She likes the way she dresses. That has nothing to do with Aaliyah’s style of music.

It’s not about code switching, she and her team are running a finesse. At first, they claimed she wasn’t Black, yet kept pushing her into Black spaces. When the public caught on to the grift, they switched the narrative. They tried aligning her with Chris Brown and Kai, but you can see the disgust in how she interacts with them. They call her music amapiano but keep submitting it in R&B instead of pop because she can’t compete with white pop artists. The last Grammys board saw through it and shut it down. She says it’s unfair to be placed in the Afrobeats category, yet her own team keeps doing it. She went from claiming to be "pro Colored South African" to suddenly being "pro all of Africa,” but folded and lashed out when people said they preferred women like Tems. Her and her team are fake as hell, and too many people are caught up in the black diaspora war her team pushed to notice the finesse.
