Tyler the creator dropping album if the year shows how far hip hop has fallen off. Been so long since I heard a cohesive well thought out album with actual rapping ( not ja ruling in autotune or migos flow) and with dope production he kinda wins by default.
Nast did this same shyt with Travis Scott…why would he think anybody would bite him?

All his albums have a different sound/theme but all high quality. I suggest listening to Wolf. It's probably the most balanced with all the styles he uses. Igor and Flower Boy are some smooth summertime music. b*stard and Goblin are his earliest projects. They're dope but he was young and less mature with his content but that's the classic Odd Future wave. Cherry Bomb is probably his most criticized project but there's still gems on there.

yeah that early OF stuff turned off alot of cats cause nobody wants to hear songs about barf and rape.

Pretty sure that tweet was in response a good portion of his fanbase saying “why’s that guy talking over all these tracks???”
My thing with Tyler he is clearly a student of music, but he hasnt introduced any new sounds for me to consider him in the category people put him in.
Me, Tyler, ASAP Rocky, and others in our age range are children of the Limewire age where we were listening to what our parents played, the music of our time, plus getting lost down rabbit holes and discovering a bunch of music outside of what was played in our region.
to me much of Tylers work is just Neptunes x Gap Band tributes with other stuff sprinkled in. Its not a bad thing but I’d like for him to create new sounds to cement his legacy as a musician.
