its straight but because it’s not typical of the current sound it gets boasted as some cutting edge music that pushes the envelope and transcends hip hop. When really the soundscapes can be found in previous decades of rap. AOTY why? No quotables. Not really any standout verses. Is Tyler rapping better than Mach? Cole? Vince? The answer is NO.
His bars suck on it but I like the flow. Now NBA Youngboy spazzed on it.
Honestly. I like some of the sad bars and shyt but overall yeah his production is his saving grace for me. His aesthetic and vision are corny.This was a great album.
I like Tyler’s composition style - it’s very unique. He puts a lot of work into this, dude is incredibly talented.

He's matured as a writer but he's always been dope on production. Listen to Wolf asap. It's more grounded as a hip hop album and is still my favorite he's put out but the last 3 albums have been right there with it.

nas raps circles around Tyler even on his latest album at like 50 years old . Honestly it’s even disrespectful to NAS we compare the two
but I can enjoy both albums.
Tyler is more creative. NAS got the substance and lyrics.
