Tyler, The Creator’s sophomore album Wolf turned one yesterday, and to celebrate, he decided to share the OG version of the album cut “Cowboy.” Aside from a lower vocal pitch and less crispy mix, there isn’t a whole lot of difference, but it’s still pretty interesting to hear how Tyler cleaned it up. “This is the original, I just didn’t feel like putting it on the album, but I hope you like it,” he raps. Tyler also had a few kind words for his fans who supported the album.

gorgeous track. i guess there's not a lot of OFWGKTA fans around these parts. i'd been wishy washy about the entire group lately, but this has just reminded me why I fell in love with their music.

Comparing Wolf to MCHG doesn't make much sense really. It's not even really rap per se, it's on the fringes of what you'd consider hip hop. Tyler's young, Jay Z's old. Tyler's views on music and life in general are non-canonical ... etc. Jay Z is still rapping about hustling and he's 40+.

Part of why Tyler's music resonates with me is that I personally feel like he is repping for all the eccentric young black males out there with peculiar interests. I listen to Jay Z and I like some of his albums, but I never really got what he was on about. With Tyler's songs though, I get the majority of them, I can relate.

I wish there was more of a market for his kind of music, but alas people just want to hear the same old stuff.

EDIT: Makes more sense to compare Wolf to Because The Internet. Also Doris was criminally underrated. Not one crap song on itt.

This is real shyt. Most of my nikkas don't fukk with tyler, I can't bump his music around them, they wanna listen to cookie cutter bytches/hoes shyt. Which is nice don't get me wrong but where the fukk is the variety
