He was clowned and not considered hip hop for the longest and then one day he was like Pharrell Jr. or some shyt
Ya nikkas listening to this
He's a better rapper off the strength of writing his own lyrics and he's a superior artist (produces/composes his own and other people's music, can hop genres because he's so diverse, etc)
this is a huge reason he's so popular.
If he was 100% heterosexual and a "normal" brotha folks wouldnt be checking for him like that.
His image matches what the current generation wants to be attached to
Yonkers, See You Again and Earfquake are def hits. New Magic Wand was big too even though it wasn't a single.
He got some good songs but a lot of repetitive shyt. Most his shyt sound like See You Again, Earfquake, New Magic Wand or Wusyaname in different ways. Ever since Flower Boy he been recyclin his best shyt in different ways. He try too hard to be this artistic nikka and in real life I only know cacs, hipsters and weird cornball brehs that listen to him specially the ones that was Odd Future fans from jump it was always those odd nikkas bumpin they shyt lol
I ain't ever seen him compared to Ye or Pharrellif people really puttin him in those convos they cacs or lil nikkas that ain't even lived through most of Ye or Pharrell career. He not anywhere up there at all.
I mean, by this logic, Kendrick would be wack because there aren't any current, non-related artists that are blatantly influenced by him.Except Kid Cudi has better albums, more hit records and reached a higher peak. Guys like Carti, Trippie, Travis Scott, Juice, all massive artists in their own right were heavily inspired by Cudi (and have said so) There’s no current modern artists that Tyler DNA in that’s poppin.
shock value folks of the Odd Future years and the rainbow set of nowHe's been in the game for like 15 years what "current generation" are you talking about?
The Pharell talk is only because Neptunes is a huge self-admitted influence on Tyler. No one is saying that he's actually as big/succesfull as Pharell (or Ye).
I was at his Brooklyn show. The crowd was all in once Tyler came on. People love that man and his music. I’m only a casual fan at most. But the crowd! OMG!Dude just did a couple of sold out shows at MSG, a week ago. A self-produced platinum artist who started out recording in his bedroom, with a cult following and mad accolades.
But on here, he's not successful, lol.
