He's not wrong but he thinks we forgot that he was trying so hard to not be looked at as a black guy.

this is all "i was made fun cuz i was different" nikkas. they wanna be separate from other black people then complain about not being accepted

But why we allowing a culture where some foreigner can have the audacity to tell a black here in America man that he ain’t making black music? :jbhmm:

And the fact that he wasn’t checked?

I don't think it's that deep but on one side you got a black man that went #1 for the first time performing and producing his own album then on the other side you've got a dude that makes collab albums talking down on his success. Khaled need to stfu :manny:
I get your point, just didn’t know this was a thing. Good for Tyler going #1.

Exactly he always wanted to separate himself and be the “different nikka”.
Eeh I think it's more nuanced than that.
He talks about it at 1:12:32 (timestamped)

Literally his whole crew was black:dahell:

latest

That's not even including the extended family like Casey Veggies and Vince Staples. Everyone Tyler came up with musically was black.

We gonna act like a lot of street rappers don't call anyone who isn't street a weirdo rapper? The streets are the ones casting people aside and not wanting to fukk with anyone different.

I remember a line he used in one of his songs that went something like "my skin black but my mind is white"
don't quote me but that was the gist, dude wanted to be 'different'. I don't understand why his upset
Tyler is what to u get when you raise a black kid with no father around white people.
