NBA star Tyson Chandler and his wife Kimberly Chandler are divorcing.

The 38-year-old from California who last played for the Houston Rockets had been separated from her since August.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce.

Tyson was married to his wife Kimberly Chandler for 16 years, and they’ve known each other for 21 years.

She is a philanthropist and journalist and has previously appeared in Vogue.

The pair met whilst they were both in high school, introduced by a mutual friend.

They dated for years before Tyson proposed, recreating Richard Gere’s proposal to Julia Roberts in the classic film Pretty Woman.

He even proposed in the same store from the movie, and they got married when they were just 22 and 23 years old.
