Now this is a year over year increase tho. Winter 2021 was cheaper because of Covid caused a glut in the energy markets and made fuel extra cheap. Remember gas was like $2 a gallon and shyt. Not saying shyt isn’t high now, because it is, but we are coming from extreme lows.

My personal recommendation is to compartmentalize your house as much as possible. Don't heat the whole thing if you don't have to.

Solid advice right here. Much better and easier doing this in a house heated with a boiler. You can actually turn radiators/baseboard sections off with a valve or switch to rooms that you aren't using. Those using furnaces just need to close vents to those same rooms, but, you have to 'balance' the airflow so you don't starve the burner (and your house) of oxygen.

Fireplace.

Luckily, I'll be back home for the holidays and -- I will be using both the fireplaces in my parents home.

Also, use that StoneWool (RockWool) Insulation for insulation updates.

It's cash-back rebates as well --- the Electric companies give back for insulation updates. I know that is a fact in Michigan.

We just bought a crib this year, and everything is electric... That's usually more expensive, but I guess we might be saving money now.

Depends on how much you get charged per kilowatt/hr. and how energy efficient your home is. I've seen people on yearly budget plans to their electric company of over $300/mo. because their bill each winter AND summer goes into Zuckerberg salary numbers.

Don’t some energy companies use fossil fuels to provide electricity to their customers?
:jbhmm:

Electric and natural gas might both be going up.

Recent winters haven't been that cold, I use my heater as a noisemaker:jbhmm:

Of course, it's all dependent on the job.
