Soldier Killed After Left Behind in Niger Ambush ID'ed as La David Johnson of Miami Gardens FL
Sgt. La David T. Johnson of Miami Gardens wore the name of his wife and mother of his two children, Myeshia Johnson, tattooed across his chest under his U.S. Army uniform. He wore both when, as part of a joint mission with Niger military, he got caught in an ambush Wednesday.
Johnson was one of four men killed in the attack. He was 25.

I'm just gonna put thiis here for u nikkas who seem to have an interest in Africa and why we are there. Coming from the north are radical Muslims who are destroying our brothers and sisters. If u think says do us wrong, u have no idea the things I hear the Muslims are doing to influence there religion in Africa. It has been mostly silent these past 50 years but a genocide is happening brehs...a holy war. The fight against the toxic spread of radical Islam is the new communist battle. Look it up. Disappointed the thread went seven pages without anyone giving the real region US troops in Niger.
America wanted a base to launch North African spy operations in, including against Libya. They got Niger to agree to let them have the base there in exchange for helping their troops fight insurgents.
It has nothing to do with natural resources, there are hardly any troops fighting there (like maybe 100). Its all about the drone base, which is 500+ personnel who are all concentrated on OTHER African countries. Niger is just like Qatar or Uzbekistan in that regard, a nation otherwise meaningless to US interests but which are close to other nations that the US wants to interfere in.
