They're actually all silly, random facts that don't disprove that Hancock feared for his life.

1. The 70 miles driven by Hancock was for an additional $35 in fare.

OK...? What does that have to do with Hancock being assaulted and fighting off a hijacking attempt during the trip?

2. It took Hancock 12 seconds to slow from 60 mph to a near stop on I-25, emphasizing that this was not “an emergency stop.”

Who says the vehicle has to stop right away during a fight? His feet could simply have come off the pedals as he's rotating his body and fighting back. Also, the Uber app data isn't reliable enough to say it took 12 seconds with certainty.

3. Because Hancock was armed with a permitted handgun and knife, he was “projecting” himself onto Kim, believing Kim had a weapon and was possibly reaching for a gun.
OK, and what's wrong with that? Also doesn't change the fact he was being facing a deadly threat even if Kim was unarmed. The hijacker could have killed him by fukking with the steering wheel at highway speeds.

4. Hancock was “in control” because he put his gun back in its holster.
:gucci: Yeah, he was in control after he used necessary force to stop the threat. How does him being in control after using force prove that the use of force was unnecessary?

5. Hancock did not have a reasonable reason to believe his life was in danger.
No proof to back this statement up. Hancock, however, had the head bruises to prove he was in danger.
This is why brehs need more access to quality legal representation. Imagine how many brehs with no resources had to plead out to bullshyt “cases” with dumb facts like this.

"The fact remains that the shooting could have been prevented if Uber had enforced one of its cardinal rules: Drivers are not allowed to have a gun in the car,” said Corboy & Demetrio Partner Francis Patrick Murphy. “Hancock routinely violated this rule and Uber failed to enforce its policy."
fukk that. Castle Doctrine allows us to carry in our vehicles and home. If Uber doesnt want people to pack then start giving out company vehicles. I dont care if I'm on the clock or not. If im inside my vehicle then I'm going to have it regardless.
