Uber let's passengers click "quiet ride" button so they don't talk to drivers

I’d use it every time

One of the WOAT feelings is getting in an Uber and the driver won’t stop asking me questions - especially after a business trip

I’ll have my headphones and some of them still try to get my attention

I envision the reason why some Uber drivers etc don't want a passenger who's quiet that's not interested in having convos is because they fear a small tip or none completely.

See some drivers are slick & figure that if they're overly friendly while having conversations with the passenger it'll lead to a tip or an even bigger tip it's all about the money, it's simple .

Drivers steady trying to maneuver ways of getting tipped especially a large tip.

If I were your Lyft driver, we'd have a lit convo. We'd talk about the latest drip, the latest music, and how we shouldn't call women hoes, no matter how many dudes they've slept with.

Outside of the obvious chatty drivers. Some will have an entire private phone convo while a passenger is in the car. I'm cool with having the option of not dealing with that.

I'm sure many of the drivers don't feel like talking to people either. They be like when the option is selected, then they get the passenger that selected that quite ride option, but wont stfu..... and the driver is like STFU bytch

how hard is it to focus on the road and not talk to your passenger? they're the one paying you and if they want to initiate a convo, let them do it. i had some motherfukker ask me 20 questions a month ago and it was dude was a good guy but i was like damn breh, we're only gonna know each other for 15 minutes. just shut the fukk up

I don’t usually mind talking but sometimes I would rather just sit quietly and enjoy the ride. Not sure if I would use this feature though, it seems a little too much.

That's the problem, not everybody is interested in hearing some damn cab driver talking about why they failed in life and how they became a damn cabbie in the aftermath, especially if the convo was forced .

Also along with having fear of little to no tips because that's the only way Uber / Lyft drivers really make ends meet by depending on large tips since Uber especially takes a cut outta the money they make during rides.

If you're depending on a rider conversating with you in hopes of good ratings/tips to make ends, shyt you need a real job bruhs.
