You dummy, Facebook dropped like 50%, everybody sold out after the big IPO, then the big boys came back bought everything up and made their money. Probably a better phrase would be pump, dump, let it drop, and reup.
talk about shyt you know nothing about brehs.

Look at the volumes in October and November, the volume spikes but the price doesn't, vs June '13, were the volume and the price rice in harmony. What does that tell you, he who knows so much? :mjpls:

If anything Uber is really slaughtering the livery cab service in New York.

Yellow/green cab service is the only type you can hail down. In the outer boroughs though green cab is very sparse, and to even get one youd have to walk to a main road and hope an empty one passes by. So you really have to depend on the livery cab services.

The thing though is the livery cabs in New York are stuck in 1995. For one, they do not take debit/credit, only cash:beli:

And you have to call some janky number at which 50% of the time they dont pick up:beli:

When they do pick up half the time they say no cab in your area, so you always have to have like 3+ agencies on deck:beli:

and especially in this day and age nobody sits in their regular neighborhood all day. So im sitting here with bedstuy cab numbers and im hanging out in Flatbush:beli:

On top of all that when a request does go through they tell you 5 minutes but most of the time it ends up being 15min+. Its disrespectful:camby:

But Uber:ahh:

Uber is the death of that bullshyt ass livery cab service. The service is so good im about to scrap my idea of getting a car in favor of using this exclusively:manny:

Im :lupe:

On one hand I want my compatriots to eat.... cabs let a lot of em do that

On the other hand..... mite be time for them to hop out of a cab and onto the Uber wave. @Ego Eimis broke down how janky the livery cab game is. Only reliable way to get one in NYC was to go to the damn office and have em dispatch from there.

I use the Uber app exclusively, but 90% of the time I use it to call a green/yellow cab. The Uber car rates are :scusthov:

But I heard they dropped their fares lower then green can fares so I might entertain that regularly also.

I guess. Seems it'd be incredibly overvalued to me if that happens. Uber needs to do a lot better job vetting their drivers though, I've heard absolutely terrible stories.

Uber is supposed to be way bigger than cabs but I really need someone to explain how they innovate in terms of logistics outside of the car service?

It's supposed to be more personally catered to you in the way you want your trip to be with more control over the fare price. Plus Uber can exist in any city or country in the world with similar policies. Regular cabs are much more standardized and unpredictable.

I know that but all of my tech friends say they are going to change logistics as a whole

And their car service should absolutely be regulated just like the cab drivers are. I think Uber is just going to be another story of a lot of decent people getting screwed while all the profit flows to very few people. Like amazon consumers will benefit in the short run though
