MAIN CARD (10pm EST) Lightweight: Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier Lightweight: Dan Hooker vs. Michael Chandler Women's Flyweight: Jessica Eye vs. Joanne Calderwood Middleweight: Andrew Sanchez vs. Makhmud Muradov Women's Strawweight: Marina Rodriguez vs. Amanda Ribas
I'd be shocked if McGregor doesn't run thru him again. Other than the co-main/main not really much to look forward to on this card, Ribas/Rodriguez will probably be decent and Muradov is one of the better MW prospects, wish that Holland matchup didn't get scrapped cuz of Covid.
For some reason I think Mcgregor is going to lose. He's expecting to be able to ko Dustin early, when it don't happen, he'll get tired, panic and probably get submitted or something. Dana got me shook to look for a link
My heart says Dustin and I really want him to win tonight, but my head is still thinking Conor takes it. I think he's so much better than he was in 2014, but Conor's takedown defense is underrated, and if Dustin makes it a stand-up affair, I still think Conor is the better striker. Conor also seems laser focused this training camp. The big x-factor to me is what @Tony D'Amato said. Conor usually gasses late 2nd or early 3rd round and takes a few minutes to get his second wind. If he gets tired, it could look like the Nate Diaz fights, and Dustin hits a lot harder than Nate does. Dustin has a great window in this fight if Conor can't put him away and gasses out in the process. Dustin has an underrated submission game (especially front headlock chokes) and I would like to see him try to take Conor down and go for a darce/guillotine/anaconda choke. I voted Conor in the poll though. Edit: @aceboon you really think Conor will moonwalk through him again? I won't be surprised if it happens, but I don't expect it either. 3 Minutes of Dustin Poirier Fighting Like His Family is Being Held Hostage
Idk what Conor is doing ng, but it didn't look like a tough weight cut, but Dustin looked bigger imo.
I don’t think the main and co main will be competitive at all. Just bad matchups for Dustin and Chandler
- Eye and Calderwood have some bad blood so that fight has potential to stand out. - Chandler is getting a lot of hype, but he’s been knocked out three times in the minor league of Bellator and as recently as mid-2019. Hooker has taken more than his fair share of ass whippings as well nearing double digit loss BMF fighter territory with 9 losses. With that said, this fight is a toss up. - Poirer gets hit way too much in his fights and to his credit he usually can absorb them, but can he absorb Conor’s punches tonight? McGregor wins this fight within the first two rounds. If it somehow gets into the third round, then Poirer will have the advantage.
