Weili vacating the belt opened the door for Dern. Jandiroba was the clear number one contender, and she has recent wins over Xiaonon & Lemos and Suarez was coming off of a loss. Dern has a win over Jandiroba and wasn’t coming off a loss when the fight was made, so her getting the shot made sense.

Gane’s energy is giving “I’ll try my best but let’s be realistic.” Maybe it’s the language barrier, but he just doesn’t look like a guy who thinks he’s winning this one.
