It would be much easier to just call them a hyper oppressive authoritarian country. Calling them “communist” just seems weird because there’s seemingly nothing communist anymore about the Chinese government. Centralized government is how most countries are ran dude that doesn’t tell us anything about their ideology....except for the single party government sanctioning and overseeing it

China is clearly a very capitalist nation. I’m not sure how anyone could mistake them for “communist”
well...every Chinese bank is state-owned, so the government decides which businesses and individuals will get the most favorable loans. The domestic media are entirely state-owned as well and offer uniformly favorable political coverage, and every square inch of land in the country still belongs to the government.
...also top local government leaders must always answer to the top communist party member.
IMO they're communist using capitalism to uplift and transform their country from a poverty stricken mud hole, to the worlds leading nation. Where they will go from there...
