Maybe he knows shyt is gonna go bad with that tax case. Or maybe he doesn't know anything, but thinks he will lose based on losing the trans/civil rights and DACA cases. Honestly I think it's the latter. Trump is so irrational and stupid I think this is fear based. He could very well win the upcoming cases. The SC always has surprise rulings, but at the end of the day its tilted to the right. We'll see what happens.
