He didn't give up. He refused to step down for Barr's replacement. Barr buckled, the president fired the guy and replaced him with his trusted second in command (instead of the guy Barr originally floated). Seems like a win to me.
So Barr intentionally got Rudy G boy out the paint but instead had to replace him with someone he didn’t want and the new acting SDNY head is Audrey Strauss Who specializes in white collar crimes... Barr got sonned
