Lol it’s not the worst, I know some good black people here. I just wouldn’t want to raise children here, that’s my main issue. There isn’t a solid black identity especially as you get to middle/upper middle class. In comparison to America where you have black neighbourhoods that are upper middle clsss but still manage to keep a black identity. It’s easy to become white washed over here and there are no black neighbourhoods that are ‘high standing’. I would want the best of everything for my kids but wouldn’t want them to be white washed or cluelessly kumbaya because they’re comfortable in life.

I’ve been to LA, NYC, Boston, DC and New Jersey. I like NYC and like that I have extended family nearby in New Jersey. There are lots of black people in NY, so I’m aiming for that city. I might have ‘grass is greener’ syndrome. What’s NY like to live? It felt like an upgrade when I went but I was only there for a month on holiday. So I get it’s a different story for residents.

NYC is big city with lots of people from various ethnic backgrounds you'd find a niche to fit into there, much more easily than various other cities. The major plus is that travel wise, you'd be centrally located, because the Caribbean is like 3 hours away and the UK is only 5 hours away. Compared to living in a big city like LA on the west coast.

I'm not qualified to speak on NYC any further but plenty of other peeps can help.

I could one day (Africa), my parents live there but I’m used to a certain standard of living and although my parents would make sure I’m more than comfortable. The truth is the vast majority of people are not living well or even living averagely, I don’t think I could be enjoying and ignoring that like many in my ‘social class’ do back home. I also think things will really pop off in various African countries within the next 10-30 years if things don’t change soon. But I don’t wanna go off topic lol. Some Caribbean countries look more promising though.

Thanks for the info. When you move to the UK you’ll still be required to pay taxes to the US government. Perhaps, they give concessions if you aren’t actually living in the US majority of the time. It’s pretty cool that you have two valuable passports.
