The BBC are so bad at handling this sort of stuff. Trump said all those words. Yeah, they played fast and loose on the edit and probably should've made it clearer the statements were further apart in his speech, but they didn't broadcast anything he didn't say.

The BBC are SO paranoid about eventually being killed off by the right wing (The Telegraph and the Spectator especially) even though they've basically been run by ex-Tories for ages that whenever they complain about anything they just rollover and take the L because they think if it comes to some sort of bigger showdown it'll turn into the end of the license fee.

Reminds me of when the papers had that Gotcha the other year of them editing nature footage in an Attenborough documentary to fit the voiceover better. It's fukking nature footage. It's all fukking edited to fit the voiceover better. It'd be boring as shyt if they didn't edit it.

But they just rolled over and let someone resign.

Hopefully who ever takes over has a set of bollocks but I highly suspect it'll be some right-friendly c*nt who makes everything worse than it is already.

Everything they've proposed so far will have zero impact on immigration other than make the lives of immigrants more expensive and difficult to plan.

My Mrs moved from Philly - she's on year four of her five year path to citizenship with a skilled worker visa working for NHS IT.

She's had to pay thousands to keep the visa renewed and now it looks like they're going to make her wait ANOTHER five years before she can get indefinite leave to remain/citizenship. Probably another £5k out of her pocket just because of the extra time they're adding.

They're not going to stop anyone coming, just going to make them feel poorer and less welcome which always has great results.
