1. Russia doesn’t have air superiority… neither nation does. There are still land to air defenses up from both sides. Air superiority would require that all of those be destroyed. Sorties from both sides remain a gamble
2. Ukraine has been doing attacks like these for the past year. This is just the biggest one so far.
