Last year we kept hearing that they "played the right way", "acted like they've been there before", "clean, quiet, non-tattoed players", etc..... all the usual dogwhistle shyt they say when they criticize NBA "thugs." They are the conservative, non-threatening NBA team for cacs to root for (just like the Celtics in the 80s).
The fact that Lebron was on the losing end made it even sweeter for them.
So yes, the Spurs belong on this list

They're no darling of middle America. They're not beloved and cheered for by white people like the 80's Celtics. They're not relatable. San Antonio looks and feels like Mexico and they don't have one white American-born player on their team.
