Dr. Johnson seems intelligent enough to run curriculum/academics of a school.
He's just in over his head trying to wear so many different hats. This isa literal example of the phrase "doing too much".
Haven't watched OP video so don't know how true the claims are. I was one of Johnson's harshest critics, though....and when he got control/ownersip of a property I fell back on the criticism.

I'm thinking that he will have to figure everything out before the state allows him to educate students there. Not looking good for him.
no, he's a weirdo on a pseudo-religious mission and in the process has ruined any credibility he had

How can we be sure that he is intelligent enough to run a school?

how does he “seem” as though he can? Running a school requires EQ (emotional intelligence) more than IQ and the dude has shown very little tact and decorum, poise, or any true qualities of a leader of young men.

from an intelligence standpoint, he speaks very good talking points, but it doesn’t take a genius to regurgitate his rhetoric. Nothing I’ve seen of him shows any deep thought. Not once have I been overly impressed with his ability to come up with deeper concepts. He says very surface level things “we don’t deserve cash reparations because we’ll buy Jordans” is insanely base level.

It’s crazy that he’s gotten this far riding his wave. There are other all black schools that are able to run without insulting parents and supporters. The dude has shown me very little honestly :manny:

Intelligence displayed by the position he held within the PA public school system, his experience learned from doing that job and his credentials. Not sure if he has actual classroom experience, or what his administrative duties were...but he's clearly intelligent enough to learn what he has to and run a school.

About his publicly displayed emotional shortcomings? I ask anybody here who is an educator or married to one, and has seen the level of fukkERY that goes on in that profession, to come in here and give you examples that make Umar seem normal. trust me.

Question his intentions, his ability to do what he promises, his honesty, and his antics...but he is an intelligent man.

i hate “arguing” on the Coli because it’s silly. I mean no disrespect.

I respectfully disagree with you. Citing someone’s credentials is not proof that he has displayed of competence. Citing “fukkery” in other schools does not mean Umar is competent.

if you are (admittedly) “not sure if he has classroom experience” and “not sure what his administrative duties were” (your words) that’s not a very compelling argument toward saying someone is competent, purely based on their word.

i don’t doubt he’s intelligent, but I can’t tell you many points that he’s ever made that have shown “how intelligent he is”. And, the evidence I have seen: the way he berates people and ideas, how he carries himself, how vapid some of his points are, I can’t say that he is a beacon or great advertisement of his own intelligence.

Just my opinion. :manny:

I respect it.

Though I do think that he displayed intelligence in the manner you're describing when he was interviewed, and then ambushed on Roland Martin's show.

Not all PhD's are equal.

He was a counselor.

Theres actual PhDs in education focused on leadership that translate to actual Principle etc roles.

He talked himself into a hole. He could have made this happen but he was too vocal about white supremacy and scared potential suitors off. You don't have to be vocal about being pro-black, just be about it. I know he's intelligent enough to build a nice curriculum and run it properly but he needs the money and donations isn't enough. He needs big corporate sponsorships, donations, and tuition for what he wants to undertake.
I think it was the lack of an actual plan, guidance or frankly...humility was the cause

Not to mention, others have opened smaller independent schools.

Dude owns an abandoned campus that would better to be condemned than rehabilitated.
